  1. Larry, this isn’t a comment on your post, but didn’t know how else to contact you.

I just want to thank you so-o-o much for your wonderful editing of Dallas Willard’s words long ago to put together “Life without lack”. I’ve read quite a few of Dallas’ books and articles and I have to say, this is my favorite. It’s like listening to him, which I unfortunately didn’t do during his lifetime here due to my obliviousness, but have now heard a number of his talks on youtube and elsewhere. You captured him!

It differs quite noticeably from his other books as they were so tight-packed with theological and philosophical and psychological truths. I’ve recommended it to my congregation and just yesterday ordered three more copies to pass around at church.
    Thank you VERY MUCH.

I noticed on your linked-in site that you went to Fuller at the same time that I did. I was there from 75 to 78. Maybe we ran into each other there.
And now, you’re a pastor in Colorado Springs–or a professor? My wife and I were just there last month at a conference at First Pres, Colo.Springs. It even snowed on us while we were there.

So, thanks again. God bless you and yours.
I’d love to hear more from you. contact: rplatta@gmail.com

    • Richard – First, I apologize for the extreme tardiness of this reply. As you could tell by looking at my blog, I don’t go to it nearly often enough. So sorry. But thank you ever so much for the kind words; Dallas’ teaching on the 23 Psalm is superb, and it was a privilege to be able to get it to a wider audience. So thankful that you have found it so accessible and shareable! I have heard from many others that they, too, find LWL their favorite of Dallas’ many excellent works. I was helped tremendously by his daughter, Becky Willard Heatley, who’s in charge of Dallas Willard Ministries (www.dwillard.org).

I am now retired and seeking God’s leading for the future. I’m thinking that part of that future will entail more writing, especially on the sorry state our our culture and how to best respond from a kingdom perspective. We’ll see.

Thanks again, and blessings as well on you and yours. – Larry
